JEMBER – Debat publik kedua Pilkada Jember 2024 yang berlangsung di Ballroom Cempaka Hotel pada Sabtu (9/11/2024) malam berlangsung hangat saat memasuki segmen keempat.
Gus Fawait, calon Bupati Jember nomor urut 2, mempertanyakan pemahaman rivalnya, Hendy Siswanto, terkait filosofi hak asasi manusia (HAM) dan aplikasinya dalam tata kelola daerah.
Pertanyaan ini mengarah pada sorotan mengenai nasib hak-hak dasar warga Jember yang menurut Gus Fawait belum terpenuhi.
“Pak, saya mau nanya, bahwa filosofi HAM yang Bapak pahami itu seperti apa, Pak? Saya pengen tanya itu saja. Terima kasih,” ucap Gus Fawait singkat.
Hendy kemudian menjawab dengan pandangan luas mengenai pentingnya menghormati HAM dalam hubungan antarwarga dan bernegara.
“Menanyakan filosofi HAM, filosofinya ini termasuk kita semua ini harus menghormati hak satu dengan yang lain di ruangan ini. Salah satunya itu. Itu adalah implementasinya,” ucap Hendy.
Ia menjelaskan bahwa penerapan HAM mencakup pengakuan dan penghargaan terhadap hak perempuan, hak anak, dan hak lansia dalam masyarakat.
Menurutnya, hak-hak ini harus dilindungi dan dijamin melalui kerangka hukum agar terwujud keadilan serta kesetaraan dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat.
“Filosofi HAM dibentuk dalam kerangka hukum, sehingga satu dengan yang lain ada patron-patronnya. Jangan dilanggar, ada hak di situ,” tambahnya.
Namun, Gus Fawait tidak puas dengan jawaban tersebut dan langsung menyoroti ketimpangan sosial serta ekonomi di Jember.
Menurutnya, pemerintah saat ini telah gagal menghormati hak-hak konstitusional masyarakat, khususnya hak atas pekerjaan dan kesejahteraan ekonomi.
“Mohon maaf, bahwa HAM itu istilah internasional, istilah kita adalah hak konstitusional. Kalau Bapak tadi menyampaikan menggebu-gebu luar biasa, saya apresiasi terkait HAM, tapi kita perlu lihat data di Jember, Pak. HAM itu hak konstitusional termasuk bagi para angkatan kerja hak untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan,” ungkap Gus Fawait dengan nada tegas.
“Hari ini pengangguran kita tinggi, kemiskinan kita tinggi, bahkan lebih tinggi dibanding tahun 2019. Artinya, saya pikir bahwa pemerintah Jember yang kemarin belum memenuhi dan menghormati hak asasi manusia rakyatnya,” imbuhnya.
Gus Fawait menyampaikan bahwa penghargaan HAM bagi masyarakat Jember seharusnya diwujudkan melalui penciptaan lapangan kerja, pendidikan yang terjangkau, dan pelayanan kesehatan yang baik.
“Masyarakat Jember yang dibutuhkan adalah perutnya harus kenyang, Pak. Anaknya harus berpendidikan, keluarganya harus mendapatkan pelayanan kesehatan yang baik,” tambahnya.
Dalam langkah politiknya, Gus Fawait menyatakan akan fokus mengatasi pengangguran dan ketimpangan ekonomi bersama pasangannya, Djoko Susanto.
Ia berkomitmen untuk menurunkan angka pengangguran serta memperkecil jurang ketimpangan sosial-ekonomi di Jember.
“Maka saya berharap, kami nanti pemimpin bersama Pak Joko, saya pastikan akan turun pengangguran, dan ketimpangan juga akan turun,” tegas Gus Fawait di hadapan audiens.
Debat ini memperlihatkan dua pandangan berbeda tentang HAM dan kesejahteraan di Jember.
Hendy menekankan penghormatan dan kesetaraan dalam kerangka hukum, sedangkan Gus Fawait menyoroti kondisi nyata yang dihadapi masyarakat Jember saat ini, termasuk masalah ekonomi dan sosial yang menuntut penanganan serius.
Dengan intensitas debat yang semakin tinggi, kedua kandidat memberikan gambaran bagaimana visi mereka akan mengarahkan Jember ke depan, terutama dalam memenuhi hak dan kesejahteraan warganya.
