JEMBER – Polres Jember Polda Jatim berhasil menangkap seorang kakek berinisial S (73), terduga pelaku pembunuhan terhadap Muslima (55), seorang janda paruh baya yang ditemukan tewas di Dusun Krajan, Desa Manggisan, Kecamatan Tanggul.
Penangkapan ini dilakukan kurang dari 24 jam setelah pihak kepolisian menerima laporan tentang penemuan mayat tersebut.
Kapolres Jember, AKBP Bayu Pratama Gubunagi, melalui Kasat Reskrim AKP Abid Uwais Al-Qarni, memaparkan kronologi kejadian dalam konferensi pers yang digelar pada Senin, 9 Desember 2024.
Kasus ini bermula dari laporan masyarakat yang menginformasikan adanya penemuan mayat wanita di lokasi kejadian.
Setelah menerima laporan, tim kepolisian segera melakukan olah TKP dan menemukan sejumlah tanda mencurigakan, termasuk luka serius pada tubuh korban.
Identitas korban berinisial M diketahui sebagai warga Desa Kombina, Kecamatan Tanggul, Kabupaten Jember.
Sementara itu, terduga pelaku, merupakan warga Desa Papitran, Kecamatan Tanggul.
Setelah melakukan serangkaian penyelidikan, polisi berhasil mengamankan S di rumah anaknya di Kecamatan Kunir, Kabupaten Lumajang, saat ia berusaha melarikan diri menggunakan bus.
Di lokasi kejadian, polisi juga menyita barang bukti yang terdiri dari sebilah kapak, 1 bantal, 1 celana, dan 1 sarung kotak-kotak.
Barang bukti ini menjadi kunci penting dalam penyelidikan yang membawa polisi pada kesimpulan bahwa pelaku membunuh korban dengan cara membacok kepala korban sebanyak tiga kali menggunakan kapak, yang menyebabkan korban meninggal dunia akibat pendarahan.
Motif di balik tindakan keji ini terungkap dari keterangan AKP Abid Uwais.
Ia menyatakan bahwa terduga pelaku merasa sakit hati terhadap korban karena sering menolak ajakan untuk menikah secara siri, meskipun hubungan keduanya cukup dekat.
“Korban rutin mengunjungi rumah pelaku dua hari sekali dan kerap menerima bantuan uang dari pelaku. Namun, ketika pelaku mengutarakan niat menikah secara siri, korban selalu menolak, yang akhirnya memicu amarah pelaku,” ungkapnya.
Keberhasilan Polres Jember dalam menangkap pelaku dalam waktu singkat menunjukkan komitmen dan kerja keras tim kepolisian.
“Pelaku kami tangkap di rumah anaknya di Lumajang tanpa perlawanan, dan saat ini sudah kami amankan di Mapolres Jember,” tambah AKP Abid Uwais.
Atas perbuatannya, S dijerat dengan Pasal 338 KUHP tentang pembunuhan, dengan ancaman hukuman maksimal 15 tahun penjara.
