JAKARTA — Kapolri Jenderal Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo mengingatkan ancaman misinformasi dan disinformasi sebagai salah satu risiko tertinggi dalam Pilkada serentak 2024.
Menurut Kapolri, penyebaran hoaks yang semakin marak di media sosial berpotensi menimbulkan gejolak di masyarakat dan mengancam stabilitas proses pemilihan.
Dalam keterangannya, Kapolri menyoroti tren interaksi media sosial yang menunjukkan bahwa hanya 38% dari 33 miliar interaksi bersifat positif.
“Kemudian juga ada satu tambahan yang mungkin juga harus rekan-rekan ikuti terkait dengan potensi kerawanan yang terjadi di media sosial. Karena saat ini kalau kita ikuti ada 33 miliar interaksi media sosial, 38% isinya positif, 23% netral, dan 29% negatif,” ujar Kapolri pada Kamis (7/11/2024).
Kapolri mengakui bahwa tidak semua masyarakat mampu membedakan informasi yang benar dan yang tidak, sehingga rawan untuk mempercayai dan menyebarkan hoaks.
“Karena saat ini salah satu ancaman tertinggi adalah adanya misinformasi dan disinformasi terkait dengan penyebaran berita hoaks. Dan ini tentunya harus diantisipasi, karena tidak semua masyarakat kemudian bisa membedakan apakah ini hoaks apakah ini berita yang benar,” jelasnya.
Ia pun meminta Forum Koordinasi Pimpinan Daerah (Forkopimda) untuk siap mengantisipasi segala potensi gangguan selama Pilkada 2024.
Dengan pelaksanaan Pilkada yang dilakukan serentak, potensi polarisasi di masyarakat diprediksi akan lebih tinggi dibandingkan Pilpres.
“Tentunya ini membutuhkan kesiapan rekan-rekan dalam hal menghadapi potensi polarisasi yang tentunya akan lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan Pilpres. Karena ini dilaksanakan serentak tentunya rekan-rekan harus mampu melihat mendalami potensi konflik yang terjadi sehingga kekuatan yang rekan-rekan miliki kita semua siap menghadapi potensi permasalahan apa pun,” tutup Kapolri.
Pihak kepolisian berharap melalui langkah antisipatif ini, Pilkada serentak 2024 dapat berlangsung aman dan tertib, tanpa terganggu oleh ancaman hoaks yang dapat memecah belah masyarakat.
