JEMBER – Calon Bupati Jember nomor urut 02, Muhammad Fawait, memberikan pesan pamungkas dalam Debat Publik Ketiga Pilkada Jember di Edelweis Ballroom Cempaka Hotel hotel pada Sabtu (23/11/2024).
Pria yang akrab disapa Gus Fawait ini memohon maaf terhadap masyarakat, bila saat masa kampanye banyak kesalahan yang dilakukan.
“Termasuk kami mohon maaf kepada pendukung Paslon nomor urut 1,” ujarnya.
Menurutnya, masa kampanye Pilkada Jember 2024 banyak pelajaran yang bisa diperoleh, dari tokoh masyarakat yang memberikan dukungan untuk Paslon Nomor Urut 2.
“Terima kasih kepada semua, terima kasih kepada bu nyai, pak kiai. Termasuk kepada Pak Hendy dan Kiai Firjaun kami ucapkan terima kasih karena telah memberikan pelajaran,” kata dia.
Gus Fawait menilai Pilkada Jember 2024 adalah kesempatan bagi seorang anak petani, santri dari pelosok desa untuk mengabdi bagi masyarakat Jember.
Ia mengaku dirinya hanya hanya seorang anak muda, anak petani, anak kiai yang berasal dari ujung barat Jember, daerah yang dinilai masih banyak kemiskinan.
“Saya hanya anak muda, anak desa, anak kiai. Kami maju di Pilkada ini demi mengabdi untuk memajukan kabupaten kami,” ucap dia.
Untuk itu, ia meminta masyarakat memberikan kesempatan memimpin Jember menjadi lebih baik.
