JEMBER – Bupati Jember, Hendy Siswanto, menyebut ekonomi di wilayah ini terletak pada kemajuan pelaku usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM).
Hal tersebut Dia sampaikan usai membuka kegiatan Jambore Sampoerna Retail Community (SRC) di Seger Nusantara, Kecamatan Pakusari.
Dalam kesempata ini, Bupati Hendy juga menandatangani memorandum of understanding (MoU) antara pemerintah daerah dengan SRC.
MoU tersebut berfokus pada pengembangan dan pembinaan toko SRC yang berkelanjutan untuk membantu peningkatan UMKM melalui produk lokal.
Selain itu, MoU ini juga untuk mendukung perkembangan digitalisasi UMKM toko kelontong di Kabupaten Jember.
Untuk itu, Hendy merasa perlu adanya percepatan melalui pelatihan-pelatihan seperti marketing, pengelolaan keuangan, dan aplikasi retail.
“UMKM kita ini adalah kekuatan ekonomi besar kita di Kabupaten Jember,” ujar Hendy.
