JEMBER – Bupati Jember terpilih, Muhammad Fawait, atau yang akrab disapa Gus Fawait, menunjukkan komitmennya dalam memperhatikan warganya yang menjadi Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI).
Baru-baru ini, Gus Fawait menerima video melalui media sosial yang berisi curahan hati warga Jember yang berada di Arab Saudi.
Dalam video tersebut, mereka mengeluhkan nasib mereka yang belum jelas dan meminta bantuan untuk kepastian nasib mereka.
“Saya mendapatkan video dari media sosial kiriman dari beberapa pihak bahwa ada warga Jember yang menjadi pekerja migran Indonesia di Arab Saudi yang curhat mengeluhkan kondisinya. Mereka meminta tolong kepada kami sebagai bupati terpilih untuk memastikan nasib mereka baik-baik saja,” ujar Gus Fawait, Kamis (2/1/2025).
Menanggapi hal tersebut, Gus Fawait langsung bergerak cepat dengan berkoordinasi bersama pemerintah pusat.
Ia menghubungi Kawendra Lukistian dan Bambang Haryadi, anggota DPR RI dari Fraksi Partai Gerindra, untuk membantu proses ini.
“Alhamdulillah, beliau merespon dan mengarahkan saya untuk berkomunikasi dengan pihak kementerian, yaitu Kementerian P2MI. Mas Kawendra mengawal komunikasi kami dengan pak menteri dan wakil menteri sehingga dua warga Jember yang menjadi PMI di Arab Saudi insyaallah bisa kembali ke tanah air dan berkumpul dengan keluarganya di Kabupaten Jember,” jelas Gus Fawait.
Ia juga menyampaikan terima kasih kepada berbagai pihak yang telah membantu menyelesaikan permasalahan ini, termasuk Presiden RI, Prabowo Subianto.
“Saya atas nama warga Jember mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Mas Kawendra dan Bapak Bambang Haryadi selaku anggota DPR RI, dan kepada Wakil Ketua DPR RI, Profesor Doktor Sufmi Dasco Ahmad. Saya juga berterima kasih kepada Pak menteri dan wakil menteri P2MI, dan juga terima kasih kepada Pak Prabowo Subianto, Presiden Republik Indonesia, karena sudah merespon cepat apa yang menjadi keluhan warga kami,” ungkapnya.
Menurut Gus Fawait, langkah cepat ini merupakan bukti pentingnya sinergi antara pemimpin daerah dengan pemerintah provinsi dan pusat untuk memberikan solusi yang cepat dan tepat bagi masyarakat.
“Ini yang sering saya sampaikan, bahwa ketika pemimpin Jember bisa bersinergi dengan pemerintahan provinsi dan pusat, maka problem di tengah masyarakat bisa dicarikan solusi secara cepat dan tepat,” tutupnya.
Gus Fawait memastikan, dua PMI asal Jember tersebut akan pulang ke Indonesia pada 5 Januari 2025 mendatang.
